We know that being a truck driver is hard. There is a lot of stress, guilt, and sacrifice that comes with life on the road. That’s why we were curious to find out: what do our truck drivers do when they are at home?

FAMILY FIRST

Some drivers turn truck and trailer repairs into family projects, with kids lending a hand and even earning a little pay as they learn responsibility. Others simply enjoy being present: sharing meals, exploring new places, or creating memories that make up for the days spent apart.

HOBBIES AND OUTDOORS

Many drivers crave fresh air and freedom. That’s why hobbies and outdoor activities play such a big part in their lives.
• Shooting sports, riding bikes all day with friends, dirt motorcycles, horse riding.
• Farming or raising animals.

AT HOME

Nothing feels better than simply being home. Drivers often take this time to recharge, catch up on personal projects, and enjoy the comfort of their own space.
• Helping with home improvements.
• Repairing cars, working on computers.
• Enjoying photo and video projects.

STAYING ACTIVE

Many look for ways to move, stay healthy, and keep their energy up.
• Going to the gym.
• Playing sports.
• Even joining competitions.

FAITH AND COMMUNITY

For others, time off the road is also a time to serve others.
• Some drivers are also priests, serving their Church.
• Volunteering in different ways to help others.

THE MOST IMPORTANT PART?

All of these matter, but there’s one thing that stands above them all: giving back.
Hobbies can recharge the body, and projects can sharpen the mind, but only helping others truly fills the heart. That’s why sometimes, even after doing something fun, we can still feel a little empty because joy comes from service, not just from pleasure.

OUR ADVICE

Find a way to volunteer. Whether it’s through your church, your community, or an organization you care about, share your time and energy with others. That’s where true fulfillment is found. And we promise when you go back in your truck, you will be and feel more grounded, more grateful, and more at peace.
